U.S. Blood Supplies Getting Low

Blood supplies are dwindling in blood banks around the country. Summer storms and extreme weather have taken their tolls, as has the deployment of American troops overseas, leaving several regions of the country with less than a one-day supply of blood. Many other areas are experiencing critical shortages of O-negative, the only universal blood type that everyone can use.
