NETWORK FOR GOOD HELPS CITIZENS RESPOND TO PRESIDENT BUSH'S CALL TO CONTINUE CHARITABLE GIVING

New One-Stop, Online Resource Offers Hundreds of Thousands of Giving and Volunteering Opportunities Across the U.S.

San Francisco, CA - November 20, 2001 - For Americans looking to join President Bush's "armies of compassion" and give something back to their communities during the holiday season, Network for Good - a new comprehensive, one-stop ePhilanthropy portal - offers a wealth of local and national opportunities for giving and volunteering that citizens can pursue.

Network for Good can be found at NetworkforGood.org ( http://www.NetworkforGood.org ).

Responding to the President's call for Americans to continue the generosity they displayed after September 11th by donating time and money to food banks, homeless shelters and other community organizations, Network for Good helps citizens easily and quickly connect with charities and nonprofits across the nation at no cost. The Website promoted by the President, NationalService.org, uses the donation and volunteer tools of Network for Good.

Network for Good allows users to find charities right in their neighborhood that support the causes they care about using the GuideStar database, which lists over 850,000 nonprofits across the nation. Credit card donations are simple, safe, secure and private and can be made with a click of the mouse. Because giving time is just as important as donating money, Network for Good also helps users find local and national volunteer opportunities through the VolunteerMatch database, the Web's largest with more than 33,000 openings.

Visitors making contributions through Network for Good can be assured that:

  • Every penny of their contribution will go to the charities they select
  • Nonprofits pay no fees or costs to use the service
  • Lists of contributors and volunteers are 100% private and not shared or sold
  • Donors receive records of all contributions for tax purposes
