Speaking Up About Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer (colon cancer) doesn't get the attention of some of the more high-profile cancers, but it's no less dangerous to Americans. In fact, it's the second most common type of cancer in the U.S. In 2003, nearly 150,000 of us were likely diagnosed with the disease, and an estimated 57,000 deaths will likely result from those cases — equally divided among men and women. When the disease is caught in the earliest stages, there is a 90% survival rate… but because of low screening rates, only 37% of cases are caught early.

Don't be shy about colorectal cancer. Be part of the cure by volunteering and donating to those working to stop this disease. Learn more about how to stay healthy now, and how to be able to detect this cancer in it earliest, most treatable stages if necessary.
